When it comes to iconic places in Saint Petersburg, Florida, there aren’t many that compare to the Sunken Gardens. Sunken Gardens has been a part of Saint Petersburg for over 100 years. Starting out as a gardening hobby, Sunken Gardens has transformed into a tropical garden paradise.

We have been here a dozen times with our daughter, and been able to capture two unique love stories too. Sunken Gardens has a close proximity to downtown Saint Petersburg, so amazing attractions like the Pier and Dali Museum, as well as great hotels and food like the Mill are a stones throw away. 

The great part about Sunken Gardens as a wedding venue is you have multiple locations to choose from. This wedding we were able to utilize both main spots since we were the only wedding of the day. The after wedding photos took place on the great lawn, while the ceremony was placed in the more intimate area next to the reception hall. 

The bride and groom decided to get ready on the grounds, so they really had the run of the place all day. If you are looking at wedding venues in Saint Pete I recommend you check out Sunken Gardens. It also makes a great afternoon stroll around the hundred year old trees and definitely check out the flamingos and birds.
